WHAT IS ARGAN OIL
Argan oil is a natural oil, produced from the fruit of the Argan tree, a wild plant belonging to the Sapotaceae family, which grows exclusively in the Sous plain, the southwestern part of Morocco.
The oil is extracted by cold pressing, without the use of additives and solvents and refining processes.
An evergreen thorny tree, it can reach 10 meters in height. Suitable for desert climate, it is a plant capable of living even over 200 years. Contained within its fleshy fruits is a very hard nut, inside which are three small kernels from which oil is extracted.
As with many vegetable oils, argan oil, following a different production process, has two possible uses: food and cosmetic. In the case where it is used as a condiment, the kernels must first be roasted and then pressed; the oil thus obtained will have a strong smell and a dark color. In the second case, on the other hand, the oil, following cold pressing, will be lighter in color and have a more delicate natural fragrance.
